Model & Photos by Murat KILICOGLU
I have been planning a scratch built Empire steam tank platoon for so long
and finally built the first one. I called it Mark I as I have changed my
plans for the next body shape. Sorry but could not find my work in
progress photos if I find them they will be aded to the page.

I have built the chasis of the steam tank from 5mm foam cardboard and used
balsa for the sides. I also covered the roof board with balsa for a more
wooden texture. The boiler is a pvc pipe covered with round wooden
bits and closed end with balsa.

I have used measuring tape to add the side details which also hides the
balsa joints.

Steam tank is a battle ship on wheels and I used the old battle ship style
cannon cover as a front detail. The steam cannon is behind the cover.

The turret is a 1/76 Fujimi T-34 turret covered with bals and the steam
gun barrel is a chaos land raider laser cannon.

Back wheels are built from old 3.5" diskettes and the front wheels
are cut from 5 lt. water bottle caps.

The side door on original steam tank seems very nice, however I dislike
the thought of having a door where enemy can reach so I have an enterance
hatch at the roof and a ladder on the back. I also have a round hatch on
the turret.
I have not started painting yet, I am cleaning the excess glue.
