How to Build an Empire Mortar from Excess Sprues

If you have an empire mortar/great cannon sprue  you can build both war machines from it. First built great cannon as normal and here is the mortar;

First we cut 4 straight pieces from the outer of our warmachine sprue. We shorten them to be equal to gun mounting part.


Them we glue the sprue parts in pairs to form our mounting sides. The only important point is glueing the wide sides of the sprues.



Then we glue our side mounting to the short mortar leaning leg coming from the warmachine sprue.


To support the side mounting we glue a one side sprue part between the leaning leg and side mountings.

Here I put the mortar gun on the mounting to see how it fits.


You can buy wheels for your mortar mounting or as I am doing here you can cut wheels from evergreen stryene.


Here our mounting is ready, I have glued a piece of plastic sheet between the side mountings to have the overall mounting effect complete. You can also see the V-shaped cuttings on the side mountings where we will place the mortar.
