When I started building an Empire army, I started thinking of a color schema and history for my army. Jannisaries are ancient Turkish fighters of Ottoman Empire until 1826. They used to have a variety of colors depending on their class. The swordsmen used to have a red-white color schema and I used this pattern for my default, red-blue color schema for the powdered missile weapons. 

I have 3 main core units one of them with spears and the others with swords each with 2 detachments; shooty detachment of handgunners and for flank attacks halberdiers. I have lots of handgunners to use as a core unit or to field all detachment with handguns. 

After having played some games against Wood Elves I saw the need for a 30" range weapon and added 20 Crossbowmen to my forces. I have a huntsmen unit to scout or for archer screen. I have 7 war machines; 3 great cannons, 2 mortars and 2 Hellblaster Volley Guns. For fast attack I have three units; two units of knights and a unit of pistoliers, I have also purchased a unit of outriders but have not build yet. Construction is underway.  Nowadays I can field 3000pts easily and hope to field 4000pts in the near future.

With the 7th Edition Warrior Priests are a fun to play with and I have build a War Altar from scratch. I have 5 warrior priests 2 with 2 hand weapons (1 old metal model, the other conversion), 1 with great weapon - used as Arc Lechtor - (conversion), 1 with hand weapon and shield (old metal), 1 with great weapon mounted.

And steam tanks, the 7th Edition gave me another present; Steam Tank. Only occupying a rare slot, cause Terror, Unbreakable, warmachine, it is a real fun for an Empire player to see the opponents' face when fielding the steam tank. I have played steam tanks as proxies - people are Karargah are so nice and gentle to let me field 3 proxy steam tanks - in some games and now I am now building 4 steam tanks from scratch. We have recently started a Warhammer Fantasy Cup at Karargah,  and I have won my first match against Dark Elf. I will be adding battle stories shortly.
